The history of PROMTEXTILE began in October 1937, when The People’s Commissariat (Narkomat) of chemical industry of the USSR had issued an order to start construction of cord fabric in complex with tire factory in Voronezh.

Official foundation date is considered December 1949, when the factory was restored after the Second World War and manufactured its first products.

Within first decade of its activity the factory had put a lot in the development of chemical industry by mastering cord and duck fabric production for tire factories.

Heroic labour of Voronezh textile workers, active participation in Stakhanov socialist movement, when leading brigades passed on to lagging brigades and leaded out their collectives to advanced positions; multiple-machine operating workers’ movement — these are the pages of the history, PROMTEXTILE is proud of by right.

In connection with tire factories’ switching to production of tires on the basis of capron and viscose cords, the factory stopped production of cotton cord, and in 1966 the specialists of the factory, the first in the industry, mastered the production of new fabric “OT” for the plants of mechanical rubber.

In the seventies, the basic products of PROMTEXTILE were the following fabrics: «OT-1», «Braking textile», «Bag goods» «sheet wadding», «netkol», technical cloths.

Increasing demand in technical textile «OT» makes the manufacturer seek internal resources for increasing volume of production. The second stage of weaving mill is being put into production, new shuttleless looms STB-2-175 are being mastered. The labour collective was awarded with two honorary titles: «The enterprise of high culture of production» and «The enterprise of all-round mechanization».

The eighties are marked by intensive technological re-equipment of spinning and twinning shops aimed at increase of the equipment capacity, improvement of work condition, decrease of dustiness of production area and cancel one complete technological chain.

Within the period of economic reforms of 1991 the factory, by decision of the labour collective, was privatized and became Open Joint-Stock Company PROMTEXTILE. The enterprise found funds for further development. Reconstruction and modernization of weaving shop was realized, new wide-weaving looms were installed and provided for reduction of production costs and increase of productivity. Introduction of high-tech equipment of foreign production — slashing and warping machines and coating line have permitted to widen the assortment of production and increase production volumes.

Since 1994 PROMTEXTILE is a participant of first-rate International and Russian exhibitions and fairs of goods and equipment for textile and light industry, where numerous diplomas have marked our products. Our product quality recognition resulted in fairs organizers and different expert companies awards for important contribution in the national market grouping and high consumption quality of products.

In 2000 PROMTEXTILE entered the Group of companies «ANGSTREM», which has unified 10 enterprises of different industrial branches (furniture, wood processing and textile industry, agriculture, transport and guard services, ecology, etc.). This step has given to the enterprise new energy for development: professional team of managers, using important experience of the enterprise work, begins to introduce modern approaches and methods of management. Number of employees has been stabilized and growth rates of the enterprise sales volume have been increased.

Recently, good traditions of the past have been revived. PROMTEXTILE is resuming publishing of newspaper «Textile-worker», on the pages of which, as 37 years ago, news of the factory life, plans and totals, important subjects are published, the best employees are encouraged. On the professional date of the textile and light industry workers the best of the best employees of the enterprise are awarded with premiums and prizes; for conscientious work and devotion to textile business their names are placed on the Honour board.

Combination of long-term experience and acquirement of textile materials’ market, close interrelation with consumers makes PROMTEXTILE a reliable partner in textile industry.
